This was a cold one. The temperature was about 22° for the start. It didn’t climb much during the day like we did, and ended the ride in the high 20’s. Skies were totally cloudy, and we had occasional light snow flurries.
Due to the cold temperatures with advance notification, points tracking on the hills was not kept and the ride was done for the completion record. Attendance was very light, and those that completed all 13 hills were:
Nathaniel Smith,
Brian McEwen, and
Matt Bond
Vickie Sullivan and Aaron Rourke completed four of the hills and then called it a day to warm back up.
Special thanks to the Ohio Cycling Center https://www.ohiocyclingcenter.com/ for providing refreshments and a brief warm-up at the top of the Trovillo climb.
For next year the LMDD will move to the beginning of November in search of warmer temperatures. This follows the move of the original Pittsburgh DD which made the move a few years ago away from Thanksgiving weekend, and is now held at the end of October. If you feel up to it, do the PDD followed by the LMDD.
Tailwinds,
Matt
